The 2013–14 Albany Devils season is the franchise's 4th season in the American Hockey League, which began on October 6, 2013. The team lost 21 skaters from the previous season, resulting in a much younger roster of players. ==Off-season== Former New Jersey Devils center Sergei Brylin was hired in September as an Albany assistant coach, joining Tommy Albelin and Dave Caruso. Albany saw a significant amount of turnover in the off-season, losing two of the prior year's three highest scorers in forwards Matt Anderson and Steven Zalewski left for Finland. Seven experience players with at least 28 games with Albany last year departed from the organization, including Anderson, Zalewski, defenseman Jay Leach, goaltender Jeff Frazee, and forwards Bobby Butler, Phil DeSimone and Chad Wiseman. Other departures included defensemen Matt Corrente, Stefan Stepanov, and Alexander Urbom; and forwards Jean-Sébastien Bérubé, Bryan Haczyk and Scott Parse.〔 Veteran center Rod Pelley joined the team, having previously played for the New Jersey Devils and Lowell Devils. He was assigned the new team captain.〔 Center Tim Sestito, who was re-signed to a new contract in the off-season,〔 was named full-time alternate captain, while Chris McKelvie and Mike Sislo would rotate as the second alternate. Rookies Seth Helgeson, Jon Merrill and Reid Boucher started their first full seasons this year, and Albany signed new players Stefan Matteau, Reece Scarlett and Scott Timmins.〔 Albany also re-signed Joseph Whitney, their top scorer from the previous year, 〔 and agreed to a two-year contract with Darcy Zajac, who had played with the team for three previous seasons but was not under contract with the team. Goaltender Scott Wedgewood also joined the Devils, having played most of the previous season with the ECHL's Trenton Titans. By the end of the off-season, the Albany starting roster lacked 21 skaters who had played the previous season,〔 Only seven of the players were older than 25, and Pelley, Sestito and goalie Cam Janssen were the only three with more than three seasons of experience with Albany.〔 The team included four professional rookies, and three others with less than a half-season of experience in the American Hockey League level or higher.〔 Head coach Rick Kowalsky described the new line-up as "probably the youngest team I've had in four years",〔 but felt the roster included a good mix of experience and youthful energy.〔 Albany played in two road games during the preseason and won both of them. The first was a 4–3 shootout victory on September 26 against the Hartford Wolf Pack, who the Devils outshot 41 to 15. Boucher, Artem Demkov and Dmitry Goldenkov each scored on the shootout. Albany also defeated the Adirondack Phantoms 3–2 on September 28. The Devils sent several players to ECHL after the preseason ended, including forward Demkov, goaltender Maxime Clermont, and defensemen Raman Hrabarenka and Harry Young. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「2013–14 Albany Devils season」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
